Hotel Esplanade - Cologne

Amazing place with excellent wi-fi, a bar area, and 24-hour reception. I remember when the staff helped serve my elderly parents during my first stay, showcasing their great care. I highly recommend it and I'm coming back!

Tasty and marvellous breakfast - 3 star level. Spotless, airy room provided with all essential Things, balcony, great bathroom. Elegant ambiance, great location.

Good for price, airy, unadorned but clean walls. Usual German fine breakfast. Within walking distance of Dom & city centre, with shopping streets en route, & also well served by public transport and taxis. The featured free bike is well maintained but small frame and of a traditional style that non Germans might find awkward.

The room was comfortable, offering a lovely quiet area at the back with a balcony view. Totally loved it!

It was just what we were expecting, a nice hotel within walking distance (25min) to the Dom (there is also a U-bahn station 1 min away), clean and tidy.

The location, the cleanliness, the breakfast and the value.

Need to leave key at desk and be buzzed in late at night.

The bathroom could use a proper repair!!! A loose shower hose plus a lack of cleaning gel near the shower were quite inconvenient. Hot water might run out during busy times!!!

There could be a possibility to make tea/coffee in the room The hotel doesnt have its own parking, be prepered to use city parking at superk market (payable)

Cleanliness and staff apologising when they realised their mistakes though they had problem speaking English. Well done

Lack of meals and breakfast should be started a bit ealry to accommodate visitors going for confereances starting as early as 0900hrs. breakfast is at 0800hrs and have to eat in a hurry in order to get to the rtain station and go to the converance venue. they should do the same thing for all their customers regardless i.e regards payment. some customers pay when they check in and some pay as they do booking resulting in confusion of being asked to pay twice. an elctric kettle in the room will be great considering that they dont offer any meals except breakfast

The breakfast selection left much to be desired, often running low on options or not replenished in time. The room was small with limited space for hanging clothes and storing luggage, and there were some inconveniences like a malfunctioning hairdryer and a fridge filled largely with mini-bar items, limiting personal storage. The check-in process was slower than expected, with multiple staff handling it rather than a consistent point of contact.

Gorgeous hotel with free Wi-Fi and courteous staff. Great sized room, exceptionally comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Marvellous and very very good breakfast selection for all tastes with eggs which was nice and great coffee...

Very clean, comfortable, staff was friendly, breakfast was quite good (especially the times, Saturday until 12)

No complaints, really, except that they closed off former balconies and just made windows.

Howay, this place was proper lush! The staff were canny friendly, and the breakfast had a champion range of tasty options. Only downside was a peculiar smell in the lobby. But overall, had a great time and would come back, like!
